Craziness

Jesus! This is making me crazy. Now I've gotta write stuff, and edit stuff, and revise the stories. As if that were not enough, I've just discovered that there is another blogger out there with the name "Kentucky Jim". Evidently, he's in a band, plays music and all that. He hasn't posted in a long time, though, so maybe this will work out ok.

I just yelled at my ex over the phone. I hate when that happens. It doesn't very often, but then ya gotta figure, there's a reason why she's my ex. For the most part, however, we're on pretty good terms. If there's screaming involved, she's the one doing it, and I can just hang up the phone.

Maybe I should just change the name of the blog to "Screamin' Jim's Blog". Then the other Kentucky Jim wouldn't get upset. Don't know if he will anyway. I'm just gonna wait and see. I use this moniker because it was given to me when I first arrived in California more years ago than I can imagine; well ok, spring of 1970. A guy I met when I was newly situated in Berkeley called me that, and it's just sorta stuck over the years. Just out of the Air Force, back from Vietnam, and in search of my lost youth. I found it, but now it's time to get rid of it. The latter seems to be a good deal more difficult than the former. I may not have had the happiest childhood, but it's certainly been a long one.

Then there's the little matter of googling my blog. The name "Kentucky Jim's Blog" brought up 83 pages of Google links. Eighty three pages! So I went to the last page, and couldn't find my link there. Checked, or sampled if you like, other pages as well. Nowhere to be seen. That's probably just as well, 'cause I dunno if I want strange people I've never met correcting my grammar, or telling me that I don't know how to tell a story. Puhleeez!

Why did I think writing about life and people using trout fishing as a vehicle was such a good idea, anyway? One or two people publish books of short essays about trout fishing, and seem to make a little money, but I don't think they are getting the major book deals or anything. But I'm outta stories. Guess I have to go fishing, and figure out a new one. Well, maybe I do have one more story about a trout pointing dog, a "trout retriever". We'll see.

  3. Check out http://help.blogger.com/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=104226 about linking/following another's blog. It's a great idea to connect with other fishermen. If you just want to connect with other crazies, I won't admit publically to having any info on that.
